About Walnut Artistry
My Story
I live in New Albany, Ohio. My wood shop is a large (30x30) converted garage. For now, my woodworking is my therapy. I get a couple of hours in at the end of my workday, and several hours a day on weekends. I've been doing woodworking for about six years.
My Inspiration
My inspiration is my next project. I can't say no to a special request. I'll make something once, and then I'll want to make another one, and another one, adding features to each new iteration and batch. Just when I feel like I've perfected it, I move on to the next concept.
My Favorites
I enjoy working with most American hardwoods. Walnut is the grandaddy of them all. Elm has lovely grain patterns. Rustic hickory is under-appreciated. Cherry is well behaved. I prefer distress boards, with cracks, knots and defects. Every board is hand-selected.
